Movie Time, our popular movie e-mail service, has relaunched with more features than ever before. There’s also a chance to win weekly prizes.
Just complete a quick registration process, and you’ll be swimming in movie news before you know it.
Movie Time will arrive in your mailbox every Friday afternoon. It won’t take up too much space, either, because it’s all text, with no graphics to clutter it up.
There are lists of all the new movies being released each week, complete with mini-reviews and listings letting you know when and where they’re playing.
If you're planning to stay home and rent a video or DVD, don’t worry - you’re not being ignored. The e-mail also lists new video and DVD releases, along with the top 10 video and DVD sales and rentals.
You can also test your knowledge of movie trivia by answering our weekly question. One randomly drawn entrant with the correct answer wins a prize of either a video or movie-related book.

Orchestral trip through the movies

GEOFF CHAPMAN
MUSIC CRITIC

If you're turned on by movie music — and not just the theme from Jaws or Silence Of The Lambs — then have Michael Danso and David Warrack got a show for you.

With the 50-strong Canada Pops Orchestra on hand, its ranks filled with top-flight musicians, the singer and the musical director plan to take you on a magical journey through cherished hits from the silver screen from the acoustically friendly George Weston Recital Hall in North York.

Guest artist Danso, who's toured internationally with Riverdance and has performed on Broadway in shows such as Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar, will be performing — for the first time in his hometown — his stage show that's been seen around the world, From Harlem To Hollywood.

The program features the music of Harold Arlen and Cole Porter, which means classy songs like "That Old Black Magic," "Stormy Weather" and "Love For Sale" with guest conductor Charles T. Cozens on the podium.

Earlier in his career Danso successfully toured a show he dubbed White Tie And Tails, featuring the music of Duke Ellington and George and Ira Gershwin.

Expect from the orchestra, under the command of conductor Warrack who founded it in 2001, classical numbers such as "Singing In The Rain" and "On The Waterfront" all the way to "Titanic" and "Schindler's List," with stops in-between at themes from the vast crop of Disney films.

Warrack's extensive musical background includes touring for more than a decade with legendary Toronto contralto Maureen Forrester, working as music director/conductor on more than 250 productions, including Shenandoah on Broadway and collaborating in writing more than 50 musicals.

From Harlem To Hollywood plays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. tomorrow. Tickets: http://www.ticketmaster.ca/ and 416-872-1111.
